• VVT-i Oil Line Failure: The oil line for the innovative variable valve timing system is prone to failure in models manufactured between the mid-2000s and early 2010s. The oil lines are made up of rubber and metal. With age, the rubber degrades and develops cracks and leaks. This malfunction exhibits damage signs like a burning oil smell, an oil spot under the vehicle, and a low engine oil level near Washington. If left unaddressed, these leaks can cause engine overheating, component corrosion, and severe engine damage.

  Diagnostic procedures for this issue include visual inspection and leak testing, such as UV dye testing and smoke testing. Upon detection of the faulty oil line, the vehicle undergoes repair, and the damaged hoses are replaced with new, upgraded, and OEM-certified metal hoses. After repairs, the engine oil is refilled to adequate levels at our shop, Bavarian Werkstatte, located near Washington.

• Water Pump Failure: The water pump in Lexus vehicles with V6 and V8 engines is prone to failure due to age, typically after covering around 60,000 to 100,000 miles. The bearing or seal in the water pump breaks down due to age, causing leakage of the coolant. Using contaminated coolant and irregular coolant refills also accelerates this damage. High-pitched whining noise, dried coolant residues around the pump, and coolant drips under the vehicle indicate this malfunction in Washington—the damage results in engine overheating and heat-related engine damage in the Lexus.

After finding the leak, the damaged water pump is removed, the pump mount is cleaned, and a new pump is installed. The pump is torqued to the manufacturer’s specification, ensuring proper function in Washington.

• Melting Dashboard and Panels: The surface materials of the dashboard and interior panels have a manufacturing defect in the chemical composition. After prolonged exposure to heat and UV rays, the materials break down, causing the polymer to leach to the surface. Visual cracks and damage indicate a malfunction in Washington. Although the malfunction is not a mechanical one, the repairs are labour-intensive. All the modules are disconnected along with the dashboard. The new dashboard module is installed, and the removed modules are reinstalled, ensuring every connector is secure, every panel fits perfectly, and all systems are functioning correctly near Washington.
