OUR STORY.
Established in 2010, Bavarian Werkstätte is your premiere Specialized European & Luxury Auto Service destination in St George, with over 50 years of specialized technical automotive experience.
Owner Chris Long has been working on German engineered automobiles since he bought his first BMW over 20 years ago. He worked for a large independent BMW shop in Rockville, Maryland for 5 years, where he had the pleasure of working on many beautiful and rare BMWs commonly featured in Bimmer Magazine, Bavarian Autosport and Roundel. After taking a break to pursue other career opportunities, he realized that working on BMWs was his true passion. He wanted to get back to making a living doing something that he loved!
For the last 15 years, Chris and his fiancé Lori have focused Bavarian Werkstätte on personal and professional customer service, honesty, efficiency and great value in order to keep our customers returning and sending referrals from other local European and luxury car owners.
Family owned and operated, our professional staff offers the only advanced dealer-level diagnostic solution with local convenience to Southern Utah. What this means for our customers is no more driving all the way to Las Vegas or Salt Lake City for maintenance or service on your luxury cars. We offer same day service when possible, quick turnaround times to get you back on the road quickly, as well as complimentary courtesy vehicles for extensive repairs.
All of our repairs come with a 24-Month/24,000-Mile nationwide warranty so that you can feel confident with your car no matter where you are going, as well as free roadside assistance for one year. We use all original equipment manufacturer recommended parts on repairs, but can also offer lower cost alternatives upon request.

A combined 50+ years of hands-on technical expertise, with three full-time technicians, two full-time service writers and Chris and Lori managing operations. We are continuing to offer dealer level diagnostics, service and repair on European and luxury vehicles, with personalized expertise and local convenience to Southern Utah!
First Octoberfest!
We hold the 1st Octoberfest at Bavarian Werkstatte to celebrate the grand opening of our new building, fully equipped with a beer garden and German food truck!
OUR NEWLY DESIGNED FACILITY
Bavarian Werkstätte expands into its own designed 10,000 square foot repair facility in Washington. We also hire an additional technician, as well as two service writers.
EXPANDS OUR FOOTPRINT
Bavarian Werkstätte expands to a bigger location in Washington with 5 bays and hires a third technician. We also hire two additional technicians over the next 8 years to keep up with demand.
Lori Starts Managing All Shop Affairs
Chris' fiancé Lori starts managing accounting, parts ordering and service writing. We also hire a lot technician

Bavarian Werkstätte opens with its first storefront location in Washington, UT with 2 bays, Chris and one other technician.
OPENS FOR BUSINESS OUT OF GARAGE IN WASHINGTON
Chris begins working on BMWs out of his home garage to test the demand in the Southern Utah area for European Auto Repair. Before long, he had his neighbors concerned about all the cars lined up outside his house!
VISION TO BEGIN SERVICING BMW'S
Chris moves to Southern Utah to explore other job opportunities and be close to his sister and her family. After numerous other career opportunities, he begins working at CitiFinancial as a loan officer for the next 5 years. While employed there, he processed automobile loans and noticed all the BMWs that were driving around Southern Utah, knowing that the closest dealership was in Las Vegas, Nevada. Going stir crazy inside an office all day, he realized that working on BMWs was his true passion and wanted to get back to making a living doing something that he loved!
CHRIS WORKS AT A BMW DEALER
Chris begins working at BMW ExcluService in Rockville, MD, first as a parts porter, and eventually moving up to technician for the next 5 years. It was here that he had the pleasure of working on many beautiful and rare BMWs owned by his boss, Lothar Schuttler of Germany, commonly featured in Bimmer Magazine, Bavarian Autosport and Roundel Magazine.
CHRIS BUYS HIS FIRST BMW
Chris buys his first BMW, a 1982 BMW 528e, that he had to repair to get running and fix up to become one of his favorite cars of all time to this day!
2026 - 16 YEARS IN BUSINESS
